On December 12, 2023, representatives of the HPT Leadership Board, Mr. Ngo Vi Dong - Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Dinh Ha Duy Linh - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Hau Giang Province Digital Technology Park. The event was organized with the participation of approximately 150 delegates, including central leaders, leaders from provinces and cities, and domestic and foreign enterprises. The ceremony marked a significant starting point aimed at establishing information technology infrastructure and creating an environment to promote the sustainable development of Hau Giang Province.

According to the project approved in February 2023, the Hau Giang Province Digital Technology Park is implemented on a 28-hectare area in Vị Thanh City, consisting of two phases: the infrastructure construction phase from 2023 to 2024 and the functional zone construction phase from 2024 to 2025.

The Digital Technology Park comprises two functional zones:

- Zone A includes the Administrative Office Zone; Zone for Research and Development of Software Industry, Digital Content, and Information Technology Services; Zone for Training Information Technology and Communication Workforce; Information Technology Incubation Zone; Startup Center Zone; Information Technology Exhibition Zone, Conference Center, Workshop Center, and Commercial Center; Technical Infrastructure Zone (Parking Lot, Power Station, Wastewater Treatment).

- Zone B consists of the Utility Services Zone; High-Tech Agriculture Experiment Zone; Biotechnology Zone; Square Zone, Green Park.

The investment in the Digital Technology Park will play a crucial role in promoting the development of information technology, creating a favorable environment for investment activities to attract capital and technology both domestically and internationally. This initiative aims to gradually transform information technology into a key economic sector for the province.

To encourage businesses, both domestic and foreign, to invest in the Digital Technology Park in Vị Thanh City, Hau Giang Province is implementing policies such as a 2-year corporate income tax exemption and a maximum 50% reduction for the following 4 consecutive years. For new investment projects in Hau Giang Province, a corporate income tax rate of 17% will be applied for a period of 15 years. These measures are designed to attract and support businesses in the information technology sector and stimulate economic growth in the region.
