HPT D-DAY 2026: From Real Technology to Real Results

As AI, data, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and automation create new opportunities for growth, businesses need technologies that align with their strategic priorities and address real-world operational challenges.

Guided by the R³ theme, HPT D-DAY 2026 centred on three priorities: the right technology, real-world operations and tangible results. Beyond exploring emerging technology trends, the programme examined how solutions can be applied in business operations, while highlighting critical considerations such as ethics and compliance.

2026 “State of AI Adoption in Organisations” Survey

HPT conducted the 2026 “State of AI Adoption in Organisations” survey to provide businesses and organisations with a practical benchmarking tool for assessing their artificial intelligence (AI) adoption maturity, understanding their current position on the digital transformation journey, and identifying priorities for the next stage. The survey report also contributes valuable reference data for the business community, regulatory agencies, and organisations supporting digital transformation, helping advance effective, meaningful AI adoption that delivers sustainable business value.

Mr. Dinh Ha Duy Linh, Vice-Chairman, CEO, HPT Vietnam Corporation, presents the AI survey findings.

The survey was designed to assess each organisation’s AI maturity using a model comprising five capability domains and five maturity levels.

Five capability domains in the V-STAR model

•  Domain S – Strategy & Leadership: Assesses leadership’s ability to set direction, demonstrate commitment, and lead AI adoption across
the organisation.

•  Domain T – Technology, Data & AI Operations: Assesses the readiness of technology and data foundations, as well as the organisation’s ability to deploy and operate AI solutions.

•  Domain A – Human Resources & Operating Model: Assesses workforce capabilities, readiness for change, and the ability to organise resources
to integrate AI into day-to-day operations.

•  Domain R – Risk & Responsible AI Governance: Assesses the ability to manage risk, ensure compliance and transparency, and use AI responsibly.

•  Domain V – Value Realization, Usage & Scaling: Assesses the ability to translate AI initiatives into tangible value, the extent of AI use in daily operations, and the ability to scale AI into an organisation-wide capability.

Five Levels of organisational AI adoption maturity

•  Level 1 (L1): Emerging

•  Level 2 (L2): Developing

•  Level 3 (L3): Standardized

•  Level 4 (L4): Transformative

•  Level 5 (L5): Pioneering

The survey found that 78.6% of organisations remained at the first two levels of AI maturity: 47.8% were at L1 – Emerging, 30.8% at L2 – Developing, 18.4% at L3 – Standardized, and 3.0% at L4 – Transformative. The main challenges to AI adoption included data security and AI ethics (58%); a shortage of AI talent (52%); costs and difficulty determining return on investment (ROI) (48%); data and infrastructure limitations (42%); a lack of strategy or leadership direction (30%); and limited understanding of legal requirements (27%).

Compared with the 2025 survey, the 2026 edition expanded both its scope and depth of analysis, taking a more systematic approach to assessing AI capabilities and helping businesses identify gaps and set appropriate development priorities.
